Result

All six hosts reachable. Zero installed CleanMyMac app bundles in /Applications or ~/Applications, zero matching scoped Library artifacts, zero running CleanMyMac processes, zero loaded CleanMyMac launch jobs, and zero CleanMyMac Homebrew casks on all six hosts after removal. 186 paths archived on five hosts; all 186 archive destinations verified to exist and all corresponding original paths verified absent. No failed archival moves or sudo password blockers. Julia’s Mac needed no changes.

Preserved exceptions: three app bundles on a Carbon Copy Cloner backup volume on rdmpw3275m; existing/new Trash archives; all CloudStorage recovery archives. Historical macOS background-item registrations remain on four hosts, with missing original executables and disabled CleanMyMac launchctl overrides. No global background-item database reset was performed.

Scope and method

Re-inventoried each named host directly via local execution or SSH by host name, using the login shell for Homebrew resolution. All inventory commands completed; no unreachable hosts.
Scanned bundle IDs under /Applications (including Setapp) and ~/Applications, plus Spotlight bundle-ID matches. CloudStorage and Trash excluded from installed-app discovery; no CloudStorage contents traversed or changed.
Inspected user/system LaunchAgents, system LaunchDaemons and PrivilegedHelperTools; user Application Support, Caches, Preferences including ByHost, Containers, Group Containers, Application Scripts, Saved Application State, Logs, HTTPStorages and WebKit; system Application Support and /Users/Shared.
Library inventory applies to the SSH account /Users/richh; Julia’s personal Library was not accessed. Shared system app locations and all-user process listing were inspected on her Mac.
Captured sfltool dumpbtm and launchctl GUI/user/system state. Disabled only discovered CleanMyMac service labels, booted out jobs, and sent SIGTERM only to exact, revalidated CleanMyMac process executable names/paths.
Printed the explicit path list and count in each removal log before moving; moved named components into timestamped per-host ~/.Trash archives. Root-owned helpers/daemons were moved with sudo -n where required.
On rdmsm4x, brew uninstall --cask --zap cleanmymac encountered an already-missing /Applications/CleanMyMac.app; repeating with --force succeeded (exit 0). Matching data/helper paths were archived before invoking the Homebrew recipe.
No reboots, general process kills, session restarts, Setapp removal, Pearcleaner changes, other app changes, or global login/background database resets.

Preserved copies and registration details

The Studio MAS menu registration pointed to /Users/richh/.Trash/CleanMyMac_2026-09-27_00-28-34/CleanMyMac_5_MAS.app. Standalone menu/monitor registrations pointed to /Users/richh/.Trash/CleanMyMac_2026-09-27_00-28-59/CleanMyMac.app. These pre-existing archives remain preserved; associated loaded jobs are now booted out and disabled.

On rdmpw3275m, /Volumes/rdmpw3275m is a separate 56 TB APFS volume with com.bombich.ccc snapshots dated July 2026, not an alias of the running /Applications (different device/inode). The following backup bundles were preserved intentionally:

BTM history remains on rdmsm4x, rdmbair13m5, rdmpw3265m and rdmpw3275m. Some historical rows still say enabled/allowed, but the referenced installed paths are absent, no jobs are loaded, and matching launchctl overrides were explicitly disabled. Deleting unrelated background-item history would violate the narrow scope; the report does not claim zero historical records.
